Coverage gets underway in 1945 when, following a 9-1 season record, the Rams, at that time based in Cleveland, won the NFL Championship with a 15-14 win over the Washington Redskins. The book then tracks the teams relocation to Los Angeles in 1946, before going on to cover the likes of the 24-17 win over the Cleveland Browns in the 1951 NFL Championship.
The 11 NFC West Division titles won between 1973 and 2003 are all inside, along with their first unsuccessful appearance in a Super Bowl, in which they were beaten 31-19 by the Pittsburgh Steelers in 1979. 1995s relocation to St Louis gets its share of coverage, before 2001s second defeat in three Super Bowls is covered, this time detailing the narrow 20-17 defeat at the hands of the New England Patriots.
But as any Rams fan will know, the franchises greatest moment came in 1999 when, with the brilliance of quarterback Kurt Warner, the Rams won their only Super Bowl to date with a 23-16 win over the Tennessee Titans. And as any diehard supporter would expect, all the drama of the games dying moments are present and correct.
As for the book itself, it measures in at an impressive 12.5 x 15 inches, bound in a burnt sienna cover. Made with an antique-style finish, the cover beautifully contrasts the book’s originally reported black and white content, for the ultimate Los Angeles Rams memorabilia.
