Personalized Atlanta Braves History Book - Gift Details
Relive the Braves’ most memorable moments with this Atlanta Braves Newspaper Book, featuring reprints of reports written at the time.
Coverage begins in 1914 during what was considered a miracle season for the Boston Braves. Down and out after a dismal start, the team turned things around so that by September they had won the National League. The Braves were still underdogs going into the World Series against the Philadelphia A’s, but made history by sweeping them aside – the coverage of which is featured in depth in this book.
Thereafter, the team’s greatest victories are all included, creating a fantastic reportage history for any diehard Braves fan. Included in the coverage is Babe Ruth’s move to the team as a player and assistant manager in 1935, as well as the team’s move to Milwaukee in 1953 and its Hank Aaron-inspired World Series’ win over the Yankees in 1957.
After relocating from Milwaukee to Atlanta in 1966, more recent accomplishments to be featured include losing attempts at the World Series in the early ‘90s, before persistence finally paid off in 1995 with victory over the Cleveland Indians. This victory ensured the Braves became the first team in Major League Baseball to win world championships in three different cities.
As for the book itself, it measures in at an impressive 12.5 x 15 inches, bound in a burnt sienna cover. Made with an antique-style finish, the cover beautifully contrasts the book’s originally reported black and white content, for the ultimate Atlanta Braves memorabilia.
