During the ‘40s and ‘50s, for example, the dominant Sam Snead won seven majors, four of which feature here. Then there’s one of the greatest players to ever grace the greens – Ben Hogan, who during the same period won nine majors. The book details four of these wins, including victory ahead of Snead during 1953’s US Open.
Golfing greats like Arnold Palmer, Gary Player, Jack Nicklaus and Lee Trevino get plenty of coverage in the 60’s, 70’s and 80’s, as do Tom Watson and Ben Crenshaw.
In the 90’s it was the turn of Seve Ballesteros, Fred Couples. Nick Faldo, Bernhard Langer and Jose Maria Olazabal to star, all of whom also feature.
This ‘Golf’ newspaper book also covers some of the more recent golfing greats, including Tiger Woods, Phil Mickelson and Rory McIlroy.
As for the book itself, it measures in at an impressive 12 ½ x 15 inches and features gold embossing on a charcoal black cover. It’s a very special gift for those who love the game of Golf.
