Coverage begins in 1960 when Oakland was awarded an NFL franchise. Four years later, at Super Bowl XV, the Raiders dispatched of the Philadelphia Eagles 27-10. This time the MVP award went to quarterback Jim Plunkett. And in 1983, the franchise won their third and final Super Bowl, this time comfortably beating off the challenge from the Washington Redskins 38-9. Running back Marcus Allen scooped the MVP award on this occasion. Every detail is included in the book.
Along with other standout results, including those over the Raiders’ big rivals – the Broncos, Chargers and 49ers – there are reports on the team’s relocation from Los Angeles back to Oakland in 1995. There’s also coverage of the 2002 defeat to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
